Iron Mountain Confirms its New Orleans Employees Safe; Facilities and Customer Records Unscathed

Boston, MA and New Orleans, LA - Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE:IRM), the world’s trusted partner for records management and data protection services, today announced that its four facilities in New Orleans have withstood Hurricane Katrina and that customer records and media are safe and well protected. The Company is most pleased to report that it has accounted for the well-being of all 107 area employees and their immediate families.

“Iron Mountain is fortunate that our disaster preparedness paid off and the efforts of our employees allowed us to respond to our customers while they were implementing their own disaster plans,” said Bob Brennan, president of Iron Mountain, North America. “We are particularly proud of our New Orleans employees who rallied on behalf of our customers right up until the evacuation and the hundreds of Iron Mountain employees from all over who rushed to aid their fellow employees after the hurricane.”

Prior to Hurricane Katrina making landfall, Iron Mountain diligently serviced customer requests to transport or relocate their backup data for disaster preparedness. Iron Mountain’s local operations also implemented its own safety, security and disaster recovery protocols prior to the area evacuation, including moving all customer media to the highest possible locations to minimize any possible damage from flooding.
